About the College
Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College (Autonomous) was founded in the year 1964. The campus is situated in a beautiful spacious Greenland in Chennai. The college has been conferred the status of Autonomy by UGC and endorsed by the University of Madras from the academic year 2009-2010.
With a vision to impart value based quality academic to empower students with wisdom and to change them with rich Indian traditions and culture, to involve the self; to broader the same towards nation building, harmony and universal brotherhood, the college offers 7 UG and 6 PG (Aided), 15 UG and 11 PG (Self Suppo -rting) programmes, Research programmes such as M.Phil. (Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and Ph.D (Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Computer Science)
About the Department
The department of Biochemistry was established in the year 1995 with the state of art laboratory facilities. The department organizes workshops and seminars to facilitate its interaction with students and faculties from other institutions.

Theme of the conference
The aim of the conference is to familiarize the student community towards current research and development in the field of biological sciences.
Molecular medicine is a new scientific discipline which combines contemporary medical studies with the field of biochemistry. It is a broad field where physical, chemical, biological and medical techniques are used to describe molecular structures and mechanisms, identify fundamental molecular and genetic errors of disease and to develop molecular interventions to correct them. Molecular medicine scales the height of modern biomedical science & helps to solve the mysteries of newer diseases. The focus of the conference is to bring out the research findings in the field of Molecular medicine which includes herbal medicine, ayurvedic medicine, and siddha medicine. Research findings from various sects are expected to throw light on the developments in biomedicine.
Call for Paper / Abstracts
Original research papers pertaining to the title of the conference are invited from faculty, research scholars and students from Academic and R&D institutions. Authors of papers selected for oral presentation in the Conference will be intimated. Selected Abstracts will be published in the Conference proceedings in The American Journal of Bio-pharmacology Biochemistry and Life Sciences [AJBBL] [Online ISSN: pending]. Abstract in MS word (Times New Roman, 12pts, single line spacing not exceeding 300 words in A4 should be sent electronically to dgvc.bc.conference@gmail.com on or before 25th Jan 2012.
Poster Presentation
Posters should be in 75 cm x 55 cm
Poster Presenter will be responsible for mounting & removing their posters in the venue.
Registration fee: (includes conference kit & lunch)
The registration fee can be sent as cash or DD in favour of “D.G. Vaishnav College (Eve), Chennai-106” on or before 25th January, 2012 to the address given for correspondence in person. Outstation participants can send it by post.
